The Delightful Highland Park Neighborhood
Highland Park is a charming neighborhood located south of Sugar House. For the most part, Highland Park is a historical residential neighborhood with a small strip of retail shops and restaurants along Highland Drive. Highland Drive and downtown Sugar House are sometimes mistaken as one of the same, but these two neighborhoods are separated by an imaginary line created by I80.
The Highland Park area was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1998. However, that’s not the only reason this area is so desirable. Living here gives you the best of both worlds: living in a quiet residential district with the classic 1920’s architecture, plus, being neighbors with the lively downtown Sugar House area.

Dining and Shopping
The dining options in the Highland Park area are plenty, thanks to it’s very close neighbor, Sugar House. However, Highland has some claims of its own that must be visited such as, Omar’s Rawtopia, which is definitely worth trying, Bruges Waffles & Frites for your sweet tooth, and Fats Grill & Pool for more of a casual bite.
With Trax stations just two blocks away it’s easy to also use public transportation for your daily commute.
The Highland Park area is perfect for any commute. It’s close to downtown, near a freeway entrance, and the whole area is very bike friendly.
